1. Which apps this covers

These instructions are for the two reading apps published by Ivan Ivanenko, an individual developer:

Our other applications — Librera1 Reader, Sound Icon, Menu Reminder and Menu Screenshot — are covered by section 13 of the Privacy Policy. Of them, only Librera1 Reader has an account, and you delete it from the account screen inside that app.

2. Delete your LibreraX account in the app

Signing in to LibreraX is optional. You sign in with Google, or on iPhone and iPad also with Apple, and the account exists for two things: keeping your reading the same on every device, and connecting your own Google Drive for your books. If you never signed in, LibreraX has no account of yours and you can skip to section 6.

To delete the account, on any device signed in to it:

1. Open LibreraX and go to the Cloud tab.
2. Tap Delete account, and confirm.
3. If asked, sign in once more to prove it is you. Google and Apple require this when the last sign-in was some time ago.

This permanently deletes, from our cloud, everything LibreraX keeps for that account: your reading positions, bookmarks, highlights and notes, favourites, tags and read marks, and the record of which books you have. It then deletes the sign-in account itself. If you signed in with Apple, it also revokes the app's Sign in with Apple authorisation. It cannot be undone.

Lost the device, or can't open the app? Write to us (section 9) and we will delete the account for you.

Librera Reader has no account to delete. We run no server for it. Its Google sign-in only lets the app reach your own Google Drive, so sections 4 to 6 cover everything there is.

3. Where your data actually is

Your data is in up to six places, and you control all of them. The rest of this page takes them one at a time.

Only the second row is held by us, and it exists only if you signed in to LibreraX. Deleting the account removes it.

4. Revoke the app's access to your Google or Apple account

Deleting a LibreraX account in the app already ends its sign-in. Revoking here is for Librera Reader, which has no account, and for any case where the app is gone or the phone is lost. It takes effect whether or not the app is still installed.

Google (both apps):

1. Open myaccount.google.com/permissions — or go to your Google Account → Security → Your connections to third-party apps & services, which older versions of the page call Third-party apps with account access.
2. Find Librera or LibreraX in the list.
3. Choose it, then Delete all connections (older wording: Remove access).

Apple (LibreraX on iPhone and iPad, if you used Sign in with Apple): open Settings → your name → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple, choose LibreraX, and tap Stop Using Apple ID. You can also do this at account.apple.com.

From that moment the app can no longer sign in as you or reach your Drive. The token it held is void, and it has no other way in.

Revoking ends the app's access, but it does not delete a LibreraX account or the records synced to it. To delete those, use section 2 or write to us.

5. Delete what the app put in your Drive

Neither deleting a LibreraX account nor revoking access removes these files, because they are yours and they are in your storage. To delete them:

1. Open drive.google.com in the same Google account.
2. Find the app's folder. LibreraX keeps the books you uploaded in LibreraX/Books and their covers in LibreraX/Covers. Librera Reader keeps its synchronised books and progress in its own folder.
3. Delete what you find, then empty Trash in Drive. Until you do, Google keeps deleted files for 30 days and they still count against your storage.

Nothing in those folders is copied anywhere else. Once the files are gone from your Drive and your Trash, they are gone.

6. Delete the data on your device

The app keeps your library in its private storage on each device: what you have read, where you stopped, what you marked and tagged, and every setting. LibreraX keeps the logins of any book catalogues you added there too. On iPhone and iPad, its home-screen widgets and the Apple Watch app keep a small copy of your current shelves. All of this goes with the app.

• Android: uninstall the app. Android deletes its private storage with it. Depending on how your device handles app backups, this removes everything.
• Android: or clear it and keep the app. Settings → Apps → LibreraX (or Librera) → Storage → Clear storage. The app restarts as if newly installed.
• iPhone and iPad: delete the app. Touch and hold its icon, then Remove App → Delete App. Or go to Settings → General → iPhone Storage → LibreraX → Delete App. This removes its storage, the books it imported, and its widgets' data. Offload App is not the same: it keeps your data for a reinstall.

A library backup you exported from LibreraX is a file saved where you chose to save it. Delete it there.

Books in folders you chose yourself are not touched by any of this. The apps only read them, and they stay exactly where they are. Delete them yourself if you want them gone.

7. Analytics and advertising

Both apps report anonymous, aggregate usage through Google Firebase Analytics. Their free editions show advertising through Google AdMob. Neither report carries your name, your email address or anything about what you read: no title, no author, no file name, no page. Instead they use a resettable identifier for the app instance and for advertising. The details are in sections 8 and 9 of the Privacy Policy.

• Android: reset or delete the advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads. Deleting it stops the identifier being available to any app.
• iPhone and iPad: turn off tracking in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, for LibreraX or for all apps. LibreraX asks before it is allowed to track, and if you say no, the advertising identifier is never available to it.
• Change your ad consent at any time with Privacy options in LibreraX's settings, in regions where consent is asked for.
• Uninstalling ends the reporting. The app instance identifier goes with the app, and a later install gets a new one with no link to the old.
• Subscribing in LibreraX, or buying the paid version of Librera Reader, removes the advertising entirely.
• The F-Droid build of Librera Reader has no analytics, no advertising and no Google Drive feature at all, so there is nothing there to delete.

Google holds this data under Firebase's and Google's own policies and retention periods. We see only aggregate reports. We can't identify you in them, or pick out one person's events.

8. What is kept, and for how long

• By us, for LibreraX: the account and the records synced to it are kept for as long as the account exists. We delete them when you delete the account in the app, or within 30 days of your request. We keep no copy afterwards.
• By us, for Librera Reader: nothing. We run no server, no database and no account system for it, so we keep no personal data about you, for any period.
• In your Drive: for as long as you leave the files there. Deleting them and emptying Drive's Trash removes them. Google keeps trashed files for 30 days first.
• On your device: until you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
• Analytics and advertising events: for Google's own retention period, under Google's policies, in anonymous and aggregate form.
• Purchase records: kept by Google Play or Apple as the seller, for as long as tax and consumer law requires. We never hold your payment data.

9. Ask us instead

If you would rather we did it, or you are not sure what an app left behind, write to us and say which app you mean. For a LibreraX account, include the email address you signed in with:

We answer within 30 days. For a LibreraX account, we delete the account and everything synced to it, and confirm when it is done. For Librera Reader we hold nothing of yours. In that case we will tell you exactly which of the steps above apply to you, because we have no copy to destroy and no way into your Google account to do it for you. In either case, the files in your Drive and the data on your device are yours to delete.
